Mourmelon - 19 November 2008.
From 12th to 28th November 2008, Eurocorps is conducting the exercise Common Effort at the French Training Area in Mourmelon, in order to maintain and improve its capabilities as a High Readiness Land Component Command Headquarters.
Eurocorps, commanded by Spanish Lieutenant General Pedro Pitarch, is executing a generic EU-led operation, developing the complex spectrum of challenges on the modern battlefield: full-scale military action, peacekeeping operations and humanitarian relief.
In Common Effort 2008, in addition to Eurocorps, also the “Etat-Major de Force N°2” from Nantes, France; the “Centro de planeamiento operativo esfecífico nacional” (CPOEN) from Valencia, Spain; the French-German Brigade from Müllheim, Germany; the Brigade 7 from Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium and the 17 Mechanized Brigade from Międzyrzecz, Poland, are present.
A program for the media is organized on 25th November at Mourmelon in the framework of the Distinguished Visitors Day that will take place on the same day. This includes a presentation of Eurocorps, a visit of the command posts and the opportunity to meet the Eurocorps Commanding General.
